School Canopy Installation in Wembley, Greater London

School Canopy Installation in Wembley, Greater London

Another successful installation of 2 x 6m x 6m Airone Tipo 150 canopy structures in the shadow of Wembley Stadium installed at Wembley Primary School.

Craig Gilbert of Zenith visited Tom Sheerin, the Site Manager at the school and discussed the various canopies available.

After careful consideration Tom selected 2 x 6m x 6m Airone Tipo 150 joined together to cover an outdoor seating area adjacent to the playground and playing fields which they now use for outdoor eating and an outdoor classroom.

Tom selected the galvanised steelwork in RAL 3000 red to match the school colours and canopies in 650gsm Beige 226.

The soft PVC canopies are UV resistant, fire retardant and fully waterproof.

The Airone Tipo 150 system is modular and available in standard 4m, 5m, 6m and 7m sizes but can be made to special order.  The structures meet UK Building Regulations for wind and snow loadings.

Playground Shelter to Reading School

Playground Shelter to Reading School

In February 2023, Craig Gilbert of Zenith was invited by Stuart Gutzenbach, the Site Manager of The Heights Primary School to carry out a site survey for canopies at the school.

After surveying the area, Craig quoted for the options of 1 x 9m x 9m or 1 x 10m x 10m Airone Max 175.

Stuart considered the options and chose the 10m x 10m Airone Max 175 which was to be used for covering outdoor PE classes and general play during break times.

The canopy was installed on an artificial grass area adjacent to the school building.  The pupils are now getting plenty of exercise under cover, regardless of weather conditions.

The structure can also be used as an outdoor classroom or for outdoor eating when not used for PE classes as the school have a number of moveable picnic benches to place underneath.

Reception and Nursery Class Shelters for Winchester School

Reception and Nursery Class Shelters for Winchester School

In May 2021, Ian Manners of Zenith was invited by Richard White, the Bursar at Princes Mead School near Winchester, to quote for canopies to cover play areas for their reception and nursery classes.

There was a requirement to choose a structure with a relatively low canopy roof and the Cicogna 150 not only offered this but also followed the shape of the Bell Tower on top of the building.

After carrying out a site survey, Ian recommended 1 x 5.8m x 4.7m and 1 x 4m x 4m Cicogna 150 in two separate areas.  The school had to get planning permission for the canopies and by choosing white powder coated steelwork and RAL 7037 Grey canopies, the colours suited the environment and permission was granted.

Ian liaised with Ben Stuckey, the Estates Manager and the canopies were installed during the October half term in conjunction with the new landscaped area, carried out by another contractor.

Richard White and the school were delighted with the canopies and the pupils are now benefitting from covered all year round play, regardless of the weather.

Sports Club increases hospitality capacity with a Zenith Canopy

Sports Club increases hospitality capacity with a Zenith Canopy

In early 2020 The Indian Gymkhana Club in Isleworth contacted Zenith regarding canopies to be installed in front of their pavilion to provide an increased covered hospitality area in front of their hockey pitches.

Ian Manners of Zenith met the Club Secretary Sutantar Soni and Richard Keys, their architect.  Ian Manners of Zenith carried out a site survey and recommended 3 x 8m x 8m Airone Max 175 (8m x 24m) with white powder coated steel work and soft PVC canopies in RAL 9010 White.

After careful consideration, the Club decided to proceed with the project and included glazed sides with double opening doors which were provided by another contractor and fit easily within the framework of the structures.

The canopies were installed in August 2020 and the Club have since added heating, lighting and internal drapes beneath the canopies.

By installing the canopies, the Club have added another dimension for a variety of restaurant and banqueting functions for weddings, parties and society dinners as well as increasing the total number of covers they can cater for considerably.

Canopy Cover to Sunken Trampoline in West Sussex

Canopy Cover to Sunken Trampoline in West Sussex

In November 2022 Justina Pugh-Morgan, the Business Support Manager of Woodlands Meed School in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, contacted Zenith regarding a canopy to replace an existing plastic Dome Structure and cover a new outdoor Sunken Trampoline to provide Rebound Therapy for the pupils at the school.

The school is a Generic Special School and by using a trampoline, it provides opportunities for enhanced movement patterns, therapeutic positioning, exercise and recreation for a wide range of users with additional needs.

After Ian Manners of Zenith carried out a site survey, he recommended 1 x 7m x 7m Cicogna 150 canopy structure to cover the trampoline which allowed for at least an extra metre of covered area surrounding the trampoline so that it can be used in all weathers.

Ian worked closely with Sunken Trampolines UK Ltd to arrange the installation of the canopy and trampoline which was carried out in July 2023 during the Summer break to avoid any disruption during the day to day running of the school.

The school are delighted with the canopy.

Zenith have previously installed canopies over trampolines including another 6m x 6m Cicogna 150 at the Heritage House School in Chesham.
